Fraport USA names global airport commercial veteran Sabine Trenk as CEO : The Moodie Davitt Report

USA. Sabine Trenk has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of Fraport USA, the developer of award-winning airport retail and food & beverage concessions programmes across the US.

Trenk has spent 30 years in the industry, gaining extensive experience managing commercial and airport operations in several continents.

Most recently, she served as Chief Operating and Commercial Officer for Fraport Brasil. In this role, Trenk led the implementation of concessions programmes at Fortaleza and Porto Alegre airports, following the renovation and construction of new passenger terminals.

Prior to joining Fraport Brasil, Trenk was the Deputy General Manager Operations at Xi’an Xianyang International Airport in China.

She also spent nine years as Chief Operating and Commercial Officer at Jorge Chavez International Airport in Lima, Peru, leading its retail and F&B concessions programmes and helping to transform it into an award-winning South American hub airport.

During Trenk's terms in Xi’an and Lima, the airports were awarded World Travel and Skytrax Awards several times for their outstanding commercial programmes and staff services.

Earlier in her career, she held various executive roles with Fraport at Frankfurt Airport, and at airports in Greece and India.

Trenk succeeds Michael Mullaney, who held the Fraport USA CEO position from May 2021, leading the company through tough COVID-19 pandemic conditions.

Fraport USA Chairman of the Board Michael Reusch said: "The Board of Directors is pleased that Sabine has taken on this important leadership role, and we can draw on her vast experience and expertise to position Fraport USA for the future.

"Sabine is an empathetic and committed leader. We thank Mike Mullaney for his contributions during the last two years. Together with our business partners we will grow the business further and pave the road for upcoming opportunities in the market."

Trenk commented: "I am delighted to take over this new responsibility and lead Fraport USA. I believe the US market offers a huge potential to expand Fraport USA's footprint and services further, and thereby contribute to an appealing and world-class travel experience at US airports.

"We will continue scanning the market for interesting opportunities and develop new ideas and concepts for the aviation sector with our highly experienced team."

Fraport USA is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Fraport AG Frankfurt Airport Services Worldwide. It develops and manages concessions programmes at major airports throughout the US, including Baltimore/Washington, Nashville, Cleveland, New York-JFK Terminal 5 and Newark Terminal B.
