1.5 x 1.5mm temperature sensor is ±0.4°C accurate

Sensirion has introduced a less accurate version of its 1.5 x 1.5 x 0.5mm STS4x temperature family.

STS4L has typical errors within ±0.4°C between 0 and 60°C.

Operation is over -40 to 125°C and 1.08 to 3.6V, consuming an average of 400nA at 1Hz reading rate, and idling at 80nA typ (25°C, 1µA max, 3.4µA max across temperature). Measurement peaks are up to 500µA.

Communication is over I2C at up to 1MHz, and it comes in three variants to offer a choice of 0x44, 0x45 or 0x46 as the address.

Max error between 0 and 60°C is ±0.6°C, and is gradually increases outside this range to as much as ±1°C at the thermal limits.

Long-term drift is typically under 0.03°C per year, but can be as much as 0.04°C per year.

Response time to 63% of a temperature change is 2s.

Code, embedded drivers and CAD files are available on GitHub and SnapEDA.

The temperature sensor is manufactured in Switzerland. Find the STS4L web page here
